Students are to use their textbooks to research the development of government from ancient times.
The first document contains selected text from Canadian by Conviction. Read this then complete the document, "Origins of Government Questions".
The work sheets within the following document contain an assignment based on information we have learned and discussed in class regarding different types of democracy, and how that applies to Canada.
These three documents contain information that will be needed to complete the Venn Diagram worksheets at the end of this activity.
Not sure how to do a Venn Diagram? A Venn Diagram is simply a chart that compares two subjects or "things" by organizing information about what characteristics they have in common and what characteristics are unique to each subject. The following document provides an example of a Venn Diagram comparing Canada to the United States
Now that you have seen what a Venn Diagram looks like, use the information in the Degrees of Democracy documents to complete each of the following Venn Diagrams
